The Belkin F9K1106 wifi booster is designed to be big, iconic and meant to stand out. It has internal antennas, four LAN ports, but no USB or audio jacks and ships with a stand on which it sits.

Just like the Belkin F9K1122, it doesn’t perform well in environments where there are a high number of WiFi networks, suffering significantly from interference. This Belkin WiFi booster clocks in at just 112.7 Mbps in 2.4 Ghz and has a range of approximately 125 feet. In terms of bandwidth, the Belkin F9K1106 had roughly half that of the Linksys RE6500 and D-Link DAP 5120.

At its relatively low cost you may look at the Belkin F9K1106 as being a steal, however, if you’re looking for a WiFi booster that offers balanced performance than you may want to look at some of the better options on the market, many of which we cover on our best WiFi boosters page.

If you’re looking for a small, minimalist WiFi booster for your home then the Belkin N600 may be just what you’re looking for. However, if you’re looking to use it in an office environment you made find it troublesome, as it’s susceptibility to other WiFi networks can make it unreliable.

The Belkin N600 wifi booster has just one LAN port, which puts it at a distinct disadvantage over it’s competitors, with many of them offer four. This Belkin WiFi booster also lacks any USB or audio jacks. The external antennas can be more, although they’re permanently attached, making it impossible to upgrade them to better, more sensitive ones.

Unfortunately, the Belkin N600 is pretty unreliable when it comes to connected with devices over the 2.4 GHz band, being somewhat susceptible to interference from other networks, particularly where there is a high number of WiFi networks, such as in an office environment.

When we said it’s small we weren’t kidding, its dimensions are 3.6 x 2.2 x 1.3 inches, making it one of the smallest WiFi boosters on the market. The D-Link DAP 1520 plugs directly into a wall socket and doesn’t ship with a stand or power cord, which would be problematic if you don’t have a socket where it’s needed.

Buy Linksys RE6500 WiFi Booster

The Linksys RE6500 is a dual-band WiFi booster with two external 3dBi dipole antennae that can be aimed to improve signal range and quality. These antennae are pretty good, however, should you feel the need to replace them with higher quality ones you can easily do so. It has four LAN ports and a 3.5mm audio jack, however it unfortunately doesn’t have a USB port.

Setting up the Linksys RE6500 wifi booster is fairly simple, with its in-built software automating most of the work, including all settings on both bands, making it one of the easiest WiFi boosters to get up and running with. One thing to note however, this Linksys WiFi booster will likely setup its SSID to be the same as that of your network, which can make troubleshooting more difficult should you encounter any problems when setting the booster up.
